I love the wide variety of recipes for the crock pot. Swiss chicken, mac and cheese, pork tenderloin, chicken tortilla soup. I am putting on taco soup in the morning. Thanks for the post! It is not snowing here, but it is raining! Stay warm . . .and safe!

Thanks rushdoggie for this recipe. I made it on Saturday for dinner & both hubby & I enjoyed it! Nice change of pace from chili, but a ribsticking tummy warmer for the cooler weather. This is a keeper!

My FIL gave me a recipe for Portuguese soup that he had gotten from his mother many years ago. I think it had come with her from the Azores. I tried it just as written, but both I and my DH thought it was not worth repeating. Do you have a good recipe that you would be willing to share please?

1 15-oz cans stewed tomatoes or stewed tomatoes with green chilies
    1 cup salsa
4 oz can chopped green chilies (I leave this out if I use tomatoes with chilies
1 4.5 oz can tomato sauce
    tortilla chips
    grated cheese
    Sour cream

Combine all ingredients except for chips and cheese in a large crockpot.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours. Just before
serving, remove chicken and shred into bite-sized pieces. Stir chicken
back into soup. To serve, put a handful of chips in a bowl, add soup, top
with cheese and spoonful of sour cream.
Made this chicken tortilla soup before, have a mix for it at walmart- yummie! wish we was gettin sum snow!
