Or near the chicken yard. Yes, we had snow cream in the mid-south, but my mother was kind of finicky about foreign objects or substances, so it was not often that we made it. Attempted to make it once in PA, but decided not to eat coal dust and soot.

I grew up in So Texas, so we didn't have snow often. When I was about 12 we had enough snow to make a bowl of snow ice cream. We lived on a ranch and had real cream to use. With a little sugar and vanilla, it sure was good. In Okla where I lived after marriage, I made it several times for my daughter as she was growing up. Now that I'm a widow, I've made it just for me.

I have never heard of this and have lived in Illinois all my life! Plenty of snow each winter....all we did/do is shovel it out of the way!....and think Spring!

Not too much snow in Phoenix, LOL. But I do miss the snow cream as a kid in VA!

Sounds like fun to make but here in central Maine we have yet to see any snow, truly a Christmas miracle :-).
