Default I'd love to have a tea party!

It's so beautiful out right now. Perfect time for a tea party with the dau and friends. Got any good recipes for tea fare?

    Thanks,
    ~ C

I will join you for a "nice" cup of tea. My DMIL always called it "nice" and it was poured into a china cup. Plus there was always a tin of butter cookies to enjoy.

Do you have the pretty teapots? I heat the water in the microwave so really no help at all.

    Enjoy your party!

When I've gone to tea, there were tiny sandwiches with no crusts on the bread, scones with clotted cream, and jam. There may have been some small cookies also. Sorry, I have no recipes. There were also a few different teas. Tea is such a fun thing to do!

Yes! My latest obsession is Goat cheese & peppered jam. You can use a croissant and make a sandwich or just crackers, but spead the goat cheese, top with some crushed walnuts and any flavor of peppered jam. I currently have a peach jam which has a bit of orange peel and red pepper flakes, but I have seen a raspberry jalapeno too...Delicious :-)

Does anyone have any nice tea recipes, especially for green tea?

Check out a website called Plum Deluxe; they have tea recipes galore. I have teas made by Harney & Sons. Fair prices, fast service, free shipping and most of it comes in nice little tins that keep the product fresh almost forever. You can buy them online but you can also find them in a few speciality stores and even a few flavors at WalMart.

Dark bread (preferred round loaf) with cheese spread. Top with a few sliced green pimento olives. That brings back memories.

Cucumber sandwiches, Boston brown bread (comes in a can) with cream cheese pineapple spread in between. Look up tea party, recipes on Google. You should find some. No crusts on sandwiches. Everything is small and not oversized.

The current edition of Food Network Magazine has a whole section of tiny sandwiches that are perfect for tea!

You should join the DAR. They are very big on teas (or at least they were when I was active with them). Mostly the food consisted of finger sandwiches made with ham or chicken salad, small cookies and occasionally other desserts. I enjoyed them thoroughly. Don't forget your hat and white gloves!
