I still make my own caramel popcorn around this time of the year. Hopefully this is the recipe you're looking for though I don't know if it came from Tupperware or not............

18 cups of popped corn or enough to fill a large roasting pan, grease the pan first with either butter or Pam.
1 cup of butter ( I use 1.5 cups or 3 cubes)
2 cups of brown sugar (I use 3 cups)
1/4 c. of white syrup ( I use 1/3 cup)
1 TB salt
1 TB Baking Soda

Combine butter, sugar and syrup in a pan, bring to a boil, boil for 5 minutes and then add the salt and soda. This will make the mixture foam up. Quickly pour over your popped corn. Bake at 250, every 15 minutes stir to insure the caramel covers all the popcorn. Let cool and enjoy.

I use more of all ingredients as I like lots of caramel on my popcorn. Just a personal preference.

Thank you snooze for your response. That one sounds yummy too and it looks like it make tons. We might need to have a caramel popcorn cook off over here and try all the recipes.

We called them Cracker Jacks
2 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup oleo
1 cup white karo syrup
2 gallons of popped corn
3/4 cup raw peanuts (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
Boil sugar, syrup & oleo. Add nuts. Boil 5 minutes. Add baking soda and vanilla. Stir. Place popped corn in a large roaster pan. Pour mixture over popped corn. Place in 200 degree oven. Stir every 15 minutes to make sure all popcorn is completely covered with mixture. Cook 1 hour at 200 degrees. Sorry...no prizes included like boxed Cracker Jacks!!!

Hey, I'm coming to Phoenix after Christmas...save some for me! Actually, we are going to Pine for 1 week. I live in SoCal so maybe we could have the party here, LOL.

Weird question, having grown up in the South, I have always heard that the humidity affects the caramel setting. Anyone else heard this or was it a wives tale made up to keep from having to make caramel?
