I hope that I am not too late in responding. I got a local recipes cookbook from my July secret pal swapper and in it I found a recipe that I am going to try:
Boiled Carmel Quickies
1 box brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 stick Margarine
1/2 c. coconut
2 1/2 c. quick oats
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter

Cook sugar, milk and margarine for 2 minutes AFTER mixture comes to boil. Add other ingredients and spoon onto wax paper. Let cool and remove from wax paper.
