What Betty Crockers Recipes do you make from the cookbooks? Please post recipes!

That was my mothers' source for everything, and I got the Betty For Boys and Girls as soon as I was old enough to cook. I made every recipe in it one by one. When I married I received my own, that had to be a 70's version - still use it more often than any other. I think I would have to say the banana bread is the most used recipe.

I Love my Betty Crocker cookbook too. I can not tell you how many I have bought and give away to exchange students that I have each year. I usually teach them how to cook and sew and Betty Crocker makes it easy. They have a newer model that helps beginners. It makes it easier for me to teach these kids. They call me and say how much they enjoyed the recipes and so did their family.

My favorite edition is the one that my mom had from 1950. They put it out again in the early 2000's but it did not contain all of the original recipes. I happened to find one on ebay (from 1950) that is virtually brand new for about $12. There were many others at much higher prices and in much poorer condition. I treasure it! My mom's is very dog-eared and worn.

One of the few cookbooks my mother had was Betty Crocker's picture Cook book. I found a first edition of it that I bought but I still have my mothers. I love the White Mountains Frosting in it. The New Fudge Cake is great if you like chocolate. For the white cake lover the Silver White cake is very good. I could go on and on. I love this book. It is my favorite of the over 200 cookbooks that I have.

I know you said to post the recipe, but I'm not up to typing so much!!!
1) Oven fried chicken. Once I found this recipe, I never fried it on the stovetop again.
2) cinnamon rolls....to DIE for!
3) Rhubarb custard pie...MMMMmmmmm
4) Fluffy omelet - a lotta work, but worth it!
The book is my old stand-by - I got it in 1969 when I moved out on my own. If I could find a replacement, I would. The newer ones don't have some of the recipes I like. I'm now in the process of scanning the recipes and putting them in a notebook.

I make Bonnie Butter Cake, French Silk Frosting, White Mountain Frosting, Watermelon Rid Pickels, Pumpkin Pie, a Christmas cookie recipe but I can't remember the name. It is my fav cookbook. It is the 1972 Red cover with the pie. A few years ago I bought my DD the same one on e-bay. Let me tell you they cost an arm and a leg.
