left overs. Love to eat my daughters leftovers. She's a great cook and won't use leftovers.

Yesterday was my birthday and she fixed a great meal, with a little help from friends. Had leftover salads for lunch.

ChasingHawk, I am going with your supper tonight. Steak burgers cooked in gravy with mashed potatoes. Sliced tomatoes and cornbread. Confession I bought an electric cupcake maker and love it. I do biscuits and cornbread in it. Takes minutes to cook.

We are having temporary septic tank issues, so we don't want to run water to wash dishes. We pulled out smoked brisket from freezer and used hamburger buns to make BBQ sandwiches! On paper plates! Win-win.

Niçoise Salad (sans egg) using fresh garden greens and veggies, cheap potatoes, cheap canned tuna, tomatoes, etc.

Flat bread made from Safeway pizza dough, topped with canned sardines in tomato sauce (Dollar Tree, $1.25/can)

Today, I worked in the garden through lunch, Then needed shower before lunch, That threw everything off. Then my pump sensor needed changing, another 3 hr delay.

I ended the day with pb + orange sandwich.

I'm looking into the cabbage/cottage cheese pancakes. Tomorrow I can shop.

Water issues cleared! We went for fresh seafood. I made Shrimp Scampi with sun-dried tomatoes. The secret is to shake the pan, rather than stirring, according to Chef Paul Prudhomme.

Left over sausages with 'spiked' baked beans and broccoli salad. I am so thankful that DH doesn't mind leftovers. I do try to change up the sides.

Tomorrow night will be chicken keema and home made naan--also left over but keema is like stew, it always tastes better after it's been sitting a day or two. I love this recipe. It uses ground meat--chicken, lamb, pork or beef, lots of indian spices, tomatoes, coconut milk or yoghurt, and any veg you want to throw in. This time I used carrot, green beans, peas, cauli and a chopped up sweet potato.

I'm cooking now for tomorrow. Went through the freezer the other day to inventory what we have and need to use. Today is a big piece of pork shoulder (there are still one each turkey, ham, leg of lamb, and smaller stuff). Right now I have it out on the Weber with charcoal and mesquite wood. I don't expect it to cook through, but that's ok. Today is about the smoke flavor. Tomorrow I will cube and combine with salsa verde to make Chili Verde, is one of our favorite preparations.

Is lovely outside right now, yesterday was too hot (85, I wilt real fast after 80), and next few days we should have rain.
