I found it. Did not realize there is a quilt shop that has all the National Quilting Day free patterns. They also encourage sharing their patterns with quilt guilds and friends.

Somehow I doubt the price of fabric will drop down. Kind of like the gas prices, they ALWAYS seem to have a reason to raise the price but never seem to adjust downward.

I took a couple of classes with Laurie Shiffrin who uses batiks almost exclusively in her quilts. She uses 'jeans' needles when sewing batiks so I gave it a try and it really does make a difference....

We are traveling from Glacier NP in Montana up through Banff and Lake Louise, then west along Rt 1 to the Okanagan and then down Rt 97 (I think thats the road).
