    I'd take it to a Bernina dealer, if you have one close, and get it serviced. I took a 930 that I picked up to one, and it only cost $150 or so. Well worth it for a machine of that caliber.

    If you search for "sewing" on Craigslist, you will likely get a few results that are from estate and garage sales.
