It really is best if you use a minky color that coordinates with the fabric on the quilt top. It is hard to do when using fabrics with such a high contrast.

I would suggest batting. Spray basting is a great idea. Since you mentioned Leah Day.... she does not lower her feed dogs.... I don't either. It doesn't seem to make a difference to me.

Thank you for all your kind comments. The whole quilt was done on the bias so it was very difficult to line things up. I just had to stop trying to make it perfect and get it done!!
