a Mug 'Hug' is a quilted 'jacket' for your mug. You can either use Velcro or a button (or anything you want) to secure it around your mug. You just have a Tab that goes through the handle.

I've done Mug Rugs and Mug Hugs with my son before xmas (He helped make a pair for his Grandad & Granma). They are really great things to make and can make sooo many styles or 'mini-quilts'.
