Anybody else give up on FMQ?

I've done FMQ on my domestic machine for years and have always been happy with a simple meander. However, it's still hard to maneuver the quilt even for a meander, and I'm just tired of the...

Spacing quilting

I'm quilting a baby quilt with a walking foot, using diagonal lines. The pattern is Jacob's ladder and I really like the way the quilting emphasizes the diagonal lines in the pattern. I would like...

I do indeed have a treasure! My great-grandmother died in 1942, so this quilt top is over 80 years old. I'm afraid to wash it, as some of the stitching looks fragile. Also, some of the fabrics are...

Marking an antique quilt

I'm currently hand quilting my great-grandmother's Dresden Plate quilt. The blocks sat in a trunk in the attic for decades, and it just seemed right to put them together and finish it! I typically...

I used to make all my quilts with bias binding. But once I began using straight of grain I liked it better, it was easier, and now I do them all that way.
