TSA is not reliable on their allowances.....

First of all, they don't hold your items, they get thrown in a bin and disposed of, no chance of retrieval.

The first time I traveled with my featherweight, they made me take out the needle....

It looks like you have nice wide borders. It's a bit of work but what I have done in this situation is take off the two side borders and quilted the quilt without quilting the top and bottom borders....

Hmm....what comes to mind is: Seams are too narrow...check your 1/4 inch. Also if your stitches are too long and the fabric is a frayer, as many are these days, your seam might pull out.

I don't have a fancy or high powered mid-arm and do have trouble with skipped stitches on batiks, especially with seams. I switched to a jeans needle and it has helped.
