    Hi, you are not doing anything wrong! Make sure the thread is hand quilting thread! My favorite is Coats, green label, extra strong. It doesn't fray, and you can thread that 10 or 12 between needle.

    hand quilting can be relaxing, and even comforting. it just takes practice, lots of pratice.

    experts will tell you, to work on stiches that are even, and the tiny stiches will evolve!

    I do a lot of hand quilting. Also when quilting stitch a bit from the ditch, using the ditch as a guide for straight rows.
