Since you are seeking opinions. Those feathered stars are and should be the focus of your quilt . All that work and perfection! IMHO the applique takes away from the Stars. I would use the lovely applique you have already done on another quilt that needs a wow. I would love to see your beautiful stars framed with the green you suggest.

"I learned something about editing from Coco Channel, of all people. She used to say: After getting dressed, remove one piece of jewelry."

No matter what, remember it IS your quilt.

Beautiful quilt. I love the applique border. Really frames the top.

I love the appliqued border. I would keep it and quilt it. Please show pictures when it's completed. It's a prize winning quilt!!!

Beautiful quilt. I really like the applique. I think the curved lines of the applique balance all of the sharp points and geometric pieces in the feathered star. I am sure the other border would be beautiful as well. Whichever border you do it will be a n awesome quilt

I like the first picture without the appliqued border...I think it takes away from the feathered stars too much. AWESOME quilt!!!

Your response is so appreciated! There seems to be more in favor of the applique than against.

You know, in truth, feathered stars have gotten a bad reputation for being hard. I always believed that & that is not exactly true. The first one is actually the hard one. You learn how they go together doing the first one & then the rest are a piece of cake.

If you lay out your pieces, one star at a time (since mine were scrappy) & then assemble them in sections, they really are a pleasure to make. It is that first one that gives you problems, as said.

Being stubborn myself, I decided it was going to be made! I'm glad I persisted!

Many, MANY thanks for looking & for your opinions.

I am still quilting on my Jane Stickle Quilt (Dear JaneŠ) & I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on her. I do believe I might finish her in this lifetime.
