I am a relatively new quilter, and would welcome any help available. My daughter and I are self taught and try to help each other. However, since we are both beginners we are reticent to try more challenging patterns. Curves scare me to death! Is there someone out there willing to mentor me? Please, please, please!

Please someone adopt me! I am a self taught quilter and would welcome any help. It would be wonderful to find out how to do things the correct/easy way. I am terrified of curves, but so many pretty quilts have them in the pattern. Is there an easy way to incorporate curves and corners?

I like youtube tutorials, I like to visually watch how each step is done, it's easier than understanding written directions. Here are some links. Hope this helps.

Hi Weezer and Suz welcome to the Quiltingboard. Im sort of new here myself. We had a bad rain/wind storm last night no power for 11 hours. Be safe and take care. It's going to be one crazy winter. Merry Christmas.

I would love to be adopted, too. I have made a few simple tops. But haven't quilted any of them. Now I am trying to learn the quilt as you go method so I can make quilts for two of my grandsons' graduation gift and need to be finished this spring. I have questions about cutting (it scares me) and squaring fabric by the yard.

Earlier, we've had questions about Binding
Here is a link with several binding video's, I like visually seeing details of how to do it, hope it helps.

http://www.google.com/search?q=How+t...=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=&rlz=1I7RNSN_en#q=How+to+do+Quilt +Binding&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7RNSN_en&prmd=iv&source=univ&tbs=v id:1&tbo=u&ei=rqcKTbPcM46jnQfr2I35Dg&sa=X&oi=video _result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CD4QqwQwAg&fp =2fd929c5c732e1a2

Here are video's on how to do mitered quilt corners:

http://www.google.com/search?q=How+t...=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=&rlz=1I7RNSN_en#q=How+to+do+miter +quilt+corners&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7RNSN_en&prmd=iv&source=univ&tbs=v id:1&tbo=u&ei=HKgKTbO4FIXQnAeW5d2BDw&sa=X&oi=video _result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCQQqwQwAA&fp =2fd929c5c732e1a2

Here are video's on how to machine quilt:

http://www.google.com/search?q=How+t...=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=&rlz=1I7RNSN_en#q=How+to+machine+ quilt&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7RNSN_en&prmd=ivb&source=univ&tbs= vid:1&tbo=u&ei=j6gKTZ3UM8i_nAfaxtSGDw&sa=X&oi=vide o_result_group&ct=title&resnum=2&ved=0CDkQqwQwAQ&f p=2fd929c5c732e1a2

Here are practice and lessons on Quilt Paper Piecing:

http://quilting.about.com/od/foundat...aper_piece.htm

http://www.quilterscache.com/StartQu...tingthree.html

Last question I think was how to quilt as you go method:

http://www.google.com/search?q=how+t...=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=&rlz=1I7RNSN_en

http://www.secretsof.com/content/194

I know it's hard waiting to be adopted, and I think we just don't have enough experienced quilters to cover all the newbie's. I'll always try to find good detailed instructions and when possible with video or youtube to help with any questions you quilters have. Always ask, we'll try our best to help. Debbie in ND
