I once got sent out to Kansas City for work - HA... They sent us to a very rural area about an hour out of town. AHEM. I think that's the way they talk out there. Cannot probably came up on their spell check if they tried cannet and they went with it. They would be have to be drinking something - it's hard to chew with no teeth.

If it was north, you were in my area. We who (correct use of who, not whom according to Bryan Garner) can speak correctly are in our loft studios fabricating art on our vintage sewing machines or in the Lapland field seeking new acquisitions to restore.

I found a CL add here in Springfield. The seller is cleaning out two storage lockers his late uncle had. Here's the link:

One of the items is a Singer Mdl 15 with the RAF decals. ( Picture 2 in the add ).
His add says contact him with offers. I did. The machine is in nice condition, but no cabinet, accessories, attachments or manual.

I texted him an offer and he responded but didn't say yes or no. We texted back and his next reply was:
"Thank you for your offer. After doing some research it appears the sewing machine is from 1936. I've seen this model and similar ones sell for between $600 to $900. I don't expect to get that much from this one, because I have not thoroughly checked it out and I am not an expert on them. I am willing to accept $200. I feel that is a fair "wholesale" price for someone who is familiar with antique sewing machines and want's to resell it for a profit."

I have not responded to him again. Simply because he's so far out of reason he's got to be smoking whacky weed.

He probably looked on eBay and saw the asking prices. Why does he think you want to sell it for profit?

So he took it out of the "box" and set it on the ground to take a pic of it? IF he could get 200 for it, it would have to have good wiring, which does not include a cut off extension cord, or tape on the bed for that matter, and it would have to be a really well crafted ad (like some of the ebay ones we've seen on this thread)

I'll agree with you on that one, Joe. I don't think I've ever seen this "sell" for that kind of price, though I've seen them listed pretty high.

In fact, there is a beautiful one (way, way nicer than this one) on eBay right now for a Buy It Now of $349. If they are cleaned up adjusted, they sell for $250 to $350 on ebay.

Ask him where he saw them selling for that kind of price - I'd love to know as I've never found a market that will pay that and would love to dump some of my junk!

Although the Singer 15 "wings" pattern machine you have is way too new to be part of my museum, I do have a friend who likes these vintage "electrified" models.
