If her goal is to resell (and from the description, it apparently is), then she's required to purchased rights for documents up to 95(?) years of age.

If distribution is free and for educational purposes, I don't think a company can prosecute under Fair Use and if they did, it's doubtful they'd win. Too many precedents.

IF ANYONE is interested.. this is a kenmore 385 series. Specifically 385.1249
I found a free downloadable manual at a local Sewing shop store here..

The only difference between the one in the manual and mine, is I have a button to push for reverse, and not a lever.
