I am looking for information on this Singer 237
This is a 237M faired, in two hulls that I have never seen elsewhere, I have no information on this machine which seems to be an uncommon model.
Usually the 237 have a motor fixed at the rear on the frame when there is a motor. This model has an internal motor.
Do you have any information on this model? Have you ever seen one?

Welcome. That is different from what I've seen for a 237. I know there were two manuals for the 237 and the difference was the pressure regulator. There is a manual for the 237 at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/86...37.html#manual There is also a small parts manual for 237M23 at https://web.archive.org/web/20170329...999/237M23.pdf and a little larger one for the 237 at https://web.archive.org/web/20160804...2_2999/237.pdf
ETA: just realized there is a manual with it. Does it show the enclosed motor?
We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf and on an ipad at Posting Pictures From an iPad
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. As shown at Standard Sewing Machine Co. Paragon
I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?
Another way to post pictures can be found at 2021/2022, 2.5” Birthday Swap
And how to use an ipad to post pictures can be found at Uploading photos and Posting Pictures From an iPad
Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon
Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post)
Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload"
After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.
Some additional notes -
The photos generally need to be reduced to less than 2MB in size. I have heard of people sending an email to themselves as it will ask if you want to reduce the size.
I have an android phone and when I tried to reply on Quilting Board while in mobile view None of the options for adding pictures was available. However, there is an option down at the bottom left of the page that is for Full Site when I tapped on "Full Site" It then looked like the way it looks on my lap top. So it would have the Red Reply and the Go Advanced options.

Welcome also. I think I've had 2 or 3 237s, but not with a covered motor like that. I would be curious to see the back of the machine with the back cover off; would the internal workings be exposed?
I think of an internal motor, for Singers anyway, as a shaft drive to a geared handwheel as in a 301, 401, and Rocketeers. I guess I need to rethink this.

I don't have this machine, it's an ad that I saw and that really intrigued me. But the ad quickly disappeared. I only had one exchange with the seller who didn't confirm that the hulls were made of metal. In the photos I see screws that should allow it to be opened. I didn't follow up on this ad because the seller wanted it much too expensive (more than 3 times the usual price for a 237 in good condition) and didn't seem very reliable to me. Since then I've only seen one other one on a sales site in southern Italy. Out of curiosity I'd like to find another one, these models are apparently relatively rare, it seems interesting to me to know its history. I continue to look for information to perfect my knowledge of the 237.
I've contacted many people on the internet who seem to be enthusiasts but none of them have any information on this model. Hence my growing interest, this is becoming a very interesting investigation. What I know is that there are two versions of the 237 referenced. The first one does not have a wheel to lower the feed dogs and the second version with a wheel on the plate to lower the dogs and a large button to adjust the pressure of the feet. The model I am talking about would therefore be a third version. Made in Milan like the others but very little distributed. By its shapes it seems more recent. Did it have more plastic parts that made it more fragile and therefore there would be fewer left?
I continue to search by trying to get closer to Singer enthusiasts.
For information, on the back of the machine, where the motor is located, it is written:MODEL 237 M 93
210-230 VOLTS 75 WATTS
50-60 Hz AC
THE SINGER COMPANY
MADE IN ITALY

Is this the machine? https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/electromenager/2628471570
(archived at https://archive.is/GQrXD)
This is an ad (scam?) using the same picture.
Any chance some of these are scams? One of the pictures looks the same.

Ok, my bad! Is this model a fashion mate? I could find a few other machines that looked the same by doing a reverse image search.

These machines are all 237 made in Italy at the Monza factory. The eBay one is only the motor which is made in France, it's a version1 without the button to lower the claws and with the small metal wheel for the foot pressure adjustment. The one from Vintage Sewing Machine Garage on YouTube is also a version1 The machine on YouTube from Red Barn Homestead is a version2, with a large plastic wheel on the top to adjust the foot pressure and a button on the tray to lower the claws. The fourth on YouTube of kelly bond machines is a version1. All these machines were made in Italy. It seems that the motors were added in the countries of import according to the different voltages (220v in France, 110v USA...) Also, the transport cases are not the same.
