To clem55 -- Pendleton wool is wonderful; it probably still looks as good as it did 40 years ago. Even if you're not a navy person a navy blazer always looks good, especially one made from Pendleton wool. It would probably cost a small fortune now.

Not sure, as some came from my DH's aunt after her death. I think some of that was from the 1950s.

Hi.....I have 10 inch squares I saved from making my children's school clothes(all cotton). The oldest daughter is 51 and the younger 50. These fabrics were purchased at Sears and Penney's back in the 'olden times'.

So, what's your oldest????[

I have my mother's aunt's thick, cabbage flowered evening dress,
which I'm thrilled to say fits me, and some left over material for
whatever reason. It's a lovely thick jersey that I've never seen before.
I'm going to use it to put in some floppy sleeves to match the 20s look.
Gotta do that, or else a shawl. I'm 76 and have butterfly wings under
my arms that keep on waving bye bye long after my hands have gone
on to doing other things.

I have a large collection of feed sacks and a large assortment of vintage fabric from the 30's and 40's. I also have some quilt tops and blocks that were my Grandmother's. They date from the 30's or 40's. I love the old fabrics and use them to restore some old quilts when I find one that can be repaired. Interesting topic.

I found some quilt squares and some pcs. cut to be sewn on some muslin. These all date back the 1930's. The pieces to be sewn are probably pcs. of my mom's dresses, aprons and dad's shirts. Wherever they came from does not matter I am going to finish my mom's quilt.

I have a couple of pieces that I bought from an Estate Sale that says 1950 on the selvage. I don't know what I'll use it for, but someday I'll see some pattern that the material will made for it.

The oldest fabric in my stash, that I specifically bought to use in a quilt is 32 years old. I have 5 yards of it. I still think it is pretty but it just has never worked for me, even with fabric from the same era. I just recently decided to use in with white in a two color/fabric quilt.
