Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome.
By chance, on QuiltersTV, I saw a video of Jean Brown using the Aunty Becky tool. Also I viewed quiltsalot.blogspot on using TJs Quilt Quilter which led to the Jinney Beyers article so I combined the lot. I use a old fashioned soup spoon with a round bowl rather than oval one so it gives me a longer slightly flatter ridge to catch the needle. I find it easier to quilt towards me and push the spoon away, but getting better going right to left. Going back to Jean Brown's video, she uses a secretary's finger guard on the index finger to help grab the needle and pull it through. I find that too cumbersome - I cut a finger off an old pair of washing up gloves and use it on my ring finger.

Hello and welcome from Boston Ma. I have tried spoon quilting in the past but didn't have the patience to continue to practice.
