And make it long enough so you can tie the bib. I thought I saw that suggestion already but couldn't find it.

You are the first one to remind us to make/add the length for the ties.

A local Quilt store had a contest last Christmas. She supplied us with the Santa square pattern & we were to come up with a finished project. This is what came to mind for me. And yes, the binding due to lack of time was a purchased binding.
By the way, I did win a $50 gift card for the contest & loved spending every penny of it there.

Happy Quilting,
Susan

Go for the binding. It will actually make the bib stronger and more durable. It also adds some 'punch' when you use a bold color.

I tried this one: http://www.allcrafts.net/f.asp?url=w...03/PD00172.pdf
I sewed the batting on the back of the front fabric. Then put the 2 tops together and left about 2inches open. Then flipped it inside out and sewed the 2inches shut. I think that's how this one was done! I also used Velcro instead of snaps.

i've bought lots of bibs with binding, and my mom used to work for a sew at home company making bibs and they all had binding...so i'm guessing it's not only acceptable but the normal way to make a bib...yours is WAY CUTE!!!

Sure you can bind it, no problem, I think I would try to stitch in the ditch on the back instead of hand stitching though, I think it would hold better. Darling little bib you have going there.
