I think it's a pain unless you have a dedicated sewing machine and table, but otherwise it works fine.

There have been a couble people here on the board that have made their own. MUCH cheaper than you can buy it. Really the only thing you have to do as far as using tools is drill a couple large holes.

also if you click on search and just type in flynn, there are a BUNCH of posts that will come up!

Don't buy one of the older ones made with wood, they are too heavy. The new ones are very lightweight and easy to maneuver. They will really only do lap quilts 50'x70'. It is very cumberson to go larger as the poled take up so much room. I used one for about 11 lap quilts and then passed it on because I ran out of a place to use it. It is a good starting place though.

i don't have one or need one, but i am curious and maybe someone can answer this: i read that post that was linked and it said there was a 4" quilting area. why is that? also, i think it would be hard to keep rolling and unrolling on that particular frame for a quilt of that size [50 x something]. is it much easier than making that size without a frame by rolling it up from both ends and starting in the center? i've seen it in the shows, but i never wrapped my head around it. he used it so fast, i couldn't keep up with how it technically worked and rolled, and there's always a crowd around anyone demonstrating anything, and you can't get a good look.

You really should go to his website and watch the video. I relaxed into the recliner and watched the whole thing, and it pretty much moves at a pace in which it all becomes clear.
