I haven't read the whole thread, but this is what I was thinking: use a narrow black (as in the butterfly bodies) for sashing. Then use your pretty butterfly print for a border -- width of your choice. What a great find. Your mom will be so proud.

beautiful I think a nice small print for the sashing with a small black border then if you have enough of the butterfly fabric you could use it for the back .
