The butterfly print is really pretty, but I wonder if you should try something with a little more black in it? I'm really happy for, what a wonderful treasure you found...

Such treasures you have found! There are soooooo many possiblities for these gems. Maybe they are calling for just a solid border with a coordinating fabric corner stone to frame them. Too much pattern would probably detract from the lovely work.

I think I would have cried if I had found something like that at Mom's.

I love the floral butterfly print that you showed. I think that would work well.

I am a big fan of black, the other fabrics seem to just POP off of it. Or piece a bunch of scraps together........low cost.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful and comforting comments about the butterflies Mama pieced. She pieced them from scraps, so I may try to go thru her scraps and see if there is anything in there that would work, before I buy something.

God Bless each of you!

oh my goodness... these are so special. I like the look of it just the way you've laid it out, and would consider connecting the blocks sans sashing. They're so beautiful, they need nothing else. A lovely summer quilt. Maybe batted with a heavy white flannel (sheet?). A muslin backing? Perhaps your butterfly fabric could serve as the binding. Or a darker solid fabric... which ever way you go, it will surely be lovely. blessings to you & your mom...
