I had tennis elbow years ago, had 1 injection and no problem. Now arthritis in hands, shoulders, back, knees (total right knee replacement last year) and feet. I now have a torn tendon in shoulder, had 1 shot, not helping much, try therapy next, then maybe surgery. I believe mine is partly due to 15 years of decorative painting, holding paint brush in right hand and project in left. But can't give up sewing or quilting.

I had it too a few years back. Lasted for over a year. I tried rest, wraps, anti-inflammatory meds, chiropractic treatment, massage therapy, heat, cold... nothing worked. As a website programmer I still had to use my hand to control the mouse, which exasperated the issue. My now husband recommended a combination of MSM, Glucosamine, Chrondroitin... I discovered Triflex from GNC (I now take the Triflex Sport). I mentioned it to the chiropractor, who said... "yeah, that might make a difference." After about two-three weeks... the pain went away. It was unbelievable!!!!!!! I have been taking it ever since and the problem has not reoccurred.

I have 'golfers elbow'. I have never plaid golf in my life nor tennis. I, when my elbow hurts I wear an adjustable band around my arm just above my elboe.. Rx'd by my physican. It works. Please consult your Doctor before trying anything like this I do't sleep in it and don't wear it full time. After wearing a couple of days I may be able to go months w/o it. I bought the one I have on now at Walmart.

I had the equivalent in my shoulder from painting this house when we moved in. The Dr. gave me a steroid injection and all the pain just vanished - so I went back and got on with the job of painting. But when the effect of the steroid wore off boy did it hurt!
Dr. was furious. Said he had given me the injection so that I should not suffer, but had not said I could work. He did give me another injection and then threatened to strap my arm to my body! It took a while, but it did heal. Its a question of patience which I always find is in short supply.

I also had great results with acupuncture. Mine was chronic over many years due to another problem with that arm and acupuncture worked wonders. After first series of treatments I was pain free for several years.

The band also worked for me, and mine was extremely bad at the time. My pain was severe, and I worked as a nurse. With the band, I didn't even have to miss work. Mine was a work/bowling problem too.

Hi, I completely know where you're coming from. It takes some time to re-coop. You must rest it.

Oh my gosh! That hits home for me. I developed "tennis elbow" because of months of hand quilting. I have had 2 cortisone injections (15 weeks apart) that helped immensely. I also have worn the tennis band with good results. I try to rest my arm but I am right handed and it is that side--that is difficult to do for me. I LIVE to hand quilt so hope it gets better. It does not seem to bother me when I hand applique.
