This site seems to be rather addictive. I love seeing the new projects everyone is working on or finished with.

I definitely agree with you and others on this board. I try to be a little picky about what I read now because it can be so time consuming and I have enough trouble getting time to sit at the sewing machine or to get another project going. But it's soooo addictive and interesting here (and educational too). What's a person to do?

Yes, many of the posts ARE repeat questions. Since I have been here for quite awhile, if I have a question, I know to go to the search section and look through the posts and answers. Though I have to admit, I didn't understand what search was when I first joined. Wonder if there is some sort of 'intro tutorial' when one signs up that would explain all of the Board features?
Deb, your hired, wonderful idea. I bet you could make a great tutorial for us new ones.

You are right about the site being 'addictive', it takes on a whole new meaning! Who will share the tutorials they are looking at-with me? : )

Yea I love looking at the board but in the last couple of months I've had to make a concious decision not to open the message board but I've saved all the previous messages so I can look at them when I have more time.

Just read two pages of 'recent posts' or one page of a section (like Photos, for instance) and call it a day. Can't read it all. If you try to do it, you'll go bananas.

Pat, For the last two weeks I have thought the very same. I love this site however, can't keep up but love it and keep coming back. I am surprised I got any xmas baking done. Merry Quilt reading.

I love that you said this. This basically what I do. If the title catches my eye, I'll click, read, and respond.

My question: do you feel that you should respond to everything you read? I worry that I'm lurking if I just read and move on without responding.

I usually start with the UNREAD TOPICS - scan the titles and look at the one's that MAKE SENSE -
I skip the ones that are vague - like
"OH LOOK" - "NEED HELP" - "I CAN"T DO IT" "HERE"S ANOTHER ONE"
Oh Look? at what? - Need help? with what - I can't do it? What?
Here's another one? Of WHAT?
(all titles just made up by me)

Am I alone?

Pictures & tutes for me, but I can't stay away from any of it. As a result my bedtime keeps getting later & later.
