My car's bumper sticker reads "Caution-This Car stops at Patchwork shops". Given to me by a friend, and it says it all...

Only two quilt shops in my immediate area and not on my route to other activities, but Hobby Lobby is a weekly stop and what else is there to use the 40% off coupon than fabric?

DH will not stop!!

I travel quite a bit in eastern Tennessee and I am always on the lookout for new quilt shops. I search for quilt shops that may be on my route to my destination and enjoy exploring and meeting the owners of the shops.

If I have time, I do. It's interesting to see what each shop has to offer.

Yes, I stop at all quilt shops that I see. My husband is getting very good at spotting shops that I miss and will stop. He knows where all the bathrooms are in each shop that I visit on a regular basis.

All the time. If I need fabric then I stop or I make a trip special if needing something. I can't afford to buy all I want. Just what I need. I am trying to use my stash first and fill in where needed. Jan

We take drives out and around based on whether there is a quilt shop in the towns we might be going through. My husband is great about that.

Also when we take vacations, we route our trip off of freeways unless we are in a rush to get somewhere. We drive through the little towns and find their quilt shop. We were amazed going through Montana. It seems every single little community has a quilt shop. Most of them are in homes or at least old homes. Pretty cool. Each one was totally different, too. We had great fun.

I am guilty, but I am going to really try and resist the temptation to buy more quilt books. I have so many and when I look at them, sometimes, I've forgotten that I ever bought the darn things, so I am going to work on that....but I've got to stop by a quilt shop. I tell my husband, "I just have to at least smell the fabric."
