I learn so much from spending time looking over postings. I think I would learn even more from works in progress and then seeing the finished project. Please post more WIP

first steps from the piles of strips: sew the strip sets... I started with 3

then cut the triangles and make the squares, I have cut the first 2 strip sets so that gives me 4 squares, 2 from each strip set.

Would you show a photo of how you cut the triangles? I am not getting a visual and I would love to set your tutorial in my
mind so I remember to do it that way. The blocks are super.

I'm not really doing a tutorial here, just a WIP, but I will show the cut strips when I do the next one. Always happy to help. Hugs and smiles!!

Have you seen this one? http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-89877-3.htm#2254410
Busy Bee is making a One Block Wonder. Her fabric is horses. If you copy/paste her photos to your desktop so you can enlarge them you will see so much detail. Maybe she will post close ups of each block for us later. One of her blocks has the horses standing in a circle as if they are around a campfire.
Good job on the wind mills, Joan..
Thank you:)

Ok, here is how I cut the strips, the ruler I used, another ruler that is good for smaller blocks and the 2 blocks I got from the 3rd strip. These blocks are not in final position, I just threw them together for a quick photo.

square 2 from 3rd strip

cut, alternating from each side of the strip

I used the 12" square but you can also use the triangle ruler

square 1 from 3rd strip

the end pieces are for scrap, the triangles from one side of the strip go together to make one block

Here are photos of the tube squares for my DGS's quilt. The green/blue squares I showed before will go between the stars, maybe. LOL. I want the quilt to be mostly orange so that might be too much other colors. I'll just have to play with it and see.
