Beautiful!!! Is there a reason that she cannot sew them together and make the quilt? That would be good for her and for you. You are very fortunate to have her, but I am sure you know that.

Good luck and let us know what becomes of all those flowers.

If you do decide to add the silk hexagons in, here is a way to do so.
I have appliqued the flower to another framed QAYG hexagon. The one with the white floral frame and the purple flower in the middle has 3 dark pink silk hexagons and 3 satin hexagons around a open
weave metallic hexagon. Because the QAYG hexagon has felt for
batting, it will hold up<nowadays, the felt does not bleed, so I have not had problems with this.>
You can try different wide stitches on your sewing machine to see what you like best.
Best wishes to you for the completion - you have a real sweetie for a mom!

The dark purple on this one is silk too

Her color combinations are beautiful. This quilt will be stunning. You are so very lucky to still have her. Enjoy every moment. Hugs to you both!

Your Moms medical problems have not affected her determination to creature beautiful hand work and it will be become a wonderful family heirloom and memory for you all. Which ever pattern you choose it will be gorgeous and enjoy helping her fulfill her dream and seeing it completed.

Happy quilting, Andie :D :D :D

Speaking as an 80-year-old without the medical problems, thank goodness, if they were mine (I should be so lucky) I would just love to see the way you used those beautiful creations. The sooner the better.

Great job, Mom!! Those will sure make into a beautiful quilt. Maybe you could do a pillow with the silk one! It was good you found something she could do.
