To add another one--My son said hoss grapper for grass hopper. We still use it sometimes today just for fun.

Maxine I love your avatar! Is that a heart box? Did you make it yourself? Love it!

DH said 'wadu' for 'water'. We still use it when talking to the cats.

My 32 year old daughters name is Emily Elizabeth Peterson, when she was little and people ask her name she would proudly tell them she is Emily a-little-bit Peterson. Now my three year old grandaughter with the same middle name does the same thing.

my mother's name was frieda. when my sister was small she had to sing the 'star spangled banner' in school'. not only was it the 'star mangled banger', but she also said, 'let frieda sing'. she thought they wrote the song for her famous mother.

we always called them "lady mondagreens" because that's what sounds like 'they laid him on the green' (an old folk song).

i like blessed are the cheesemakers, for they shall inherit the mirth. and why not?

When my DD was 18 months we were walking at the park one afternoon. She saw a bright yellow blossum and sweetly asked, " 'is dis?".
I replied, "Dandelion. Can you say dandelion?".
She shook her head no.
I said, "Mama will teach you. Say 'dandy'".
She said, "Nanny".
I said, "Lion".
She roared...and I dissolved in laughter.

She also sang "hocka poka hosey" for pocket full of posies, and to this day that's how we still sing it.

Milk was "mooch", and 'thank you" was "dit doo"....too many wonderful memories...
