He loves me no matter what. We've had some really rough times and he's always been by my side. He's a good man, not always what people like, but he's honest down to his toes. I tell my daughters that good men are soo important to a good marriage. He's very kind and generous to people who deserve a helping hand. The other most important thing is he makes me laugh. The other guys just never did make me laugh, (as sweet and nice as they were) it was his goodness and laughter that made up my mind. I am so lucky to have such a funny, loving man. Still going 36 years later.

We married 44 years ago. We really respected each other and wanted a family. My brother lived in Alaska and he wanted me to leave Mass. and go work on the base up there. I was 19 and had not seen him in 11 years. Then I realised I could not live without my LOVE. We had been together since I was 17. We married, he was 25 I was 19. My parents felt I was to young. They really liked him. I still feel like we are on our honeymoon, dispite he has been really ill and I am his caregiver we are still very happy together. He is the best.

We knew we had to married, we had each other in our new relationship with God. DH had no real family, it has been a wonderful trip.
16 yrs ago yesterday I had found out I was pregnant and it was a miracle. Our last child was 12 and the oldest 16.
So Valentines Day is pretty special.
What else could be so beautiful and with such a strong foundation? I know of none :) 45 1/2 years here

Honestly ... it was cheaper and easier to marry him instead of him having to travel back to England every 90 days to renew his visa!! He's legal now :)

He made me laugh & I feel so safe and secure with him. We weren't in love when we married, but we sure were "in like". It didn't take long to fall in love. We met on the internet (both of us lost previous spouse), met 1 month later, got engaged that week-end, married 2 weeks later and at our ages don't know how long we have together, but we intend to make the most of every minute togethter.

I thought it was a true and enduring love. The marriage ended 36 years later when I found it it most certainly was not.

I was young ( 18 ) and not worldly and he was 20 and had seen the world with Uncle Sam. He was being sent across the country for his first tour after Basic, and I was afraid I would lose him. He asked and I said yes. My BEST FRIEND and I have been married 47 years...It has been a wonderful ride.

Because I thought he had money. He thought I had money.
Not true. After 49 years wouldn't swap him for "quids" (aussie slang for money)
