Me, too! I thought I was just weird.

I get intermittent, intense itching on the tops of my hands and especially over my thumbs. But this can change, and it isn't confined to any specific time of day or activity. So odd.

I believe it may be contact dermititis. Might try Benadryl.

I have what my Dr. calls a cold allergy in my hands. If I touch anything cold my hands start to itch so bad you want to dig the skin off (sorry for the graphic picture). I'm very careful not to touch frozen items for very long as my hands will immediately turn red and start to itch.

This sounds like neuropathy, or could be carpal tunnel. Have you talked to your doctor?

Has he started any new medication lately? Some blood pressure medicine can cause photo dematitis from sunlight. Happens to me every Spring. It's very irritating. Gets somewhat better later in the year.

sometimes using soap and/or skin cleansers and/or anti-bac sanitizer can catch up with a person. if there is nothing medically wrong, try using a pure and natural soap. meaning NO chemicals. they are hard to find, but make sure they do not have any parabens, or anything of the sort. google it for info. once i switched, i no longer need lotion and do not have itchy skin at all. plus the soap is good for the face too -- and no dryness. my bar soap in the shower lasted for over one year! so it is a good deal. i recently bought a 2-pack at trader joes for $1.99 and they work really well.
