Try some medicated lotion or something with benadryl in it. Hate to say this, but mine itch sometimes if I'm really stressed. For that I use some cream with cortisone. both are OTC.

I have the same thing happening to me. I've tried lotion but it doesn't help. When I mentioned it to my internist, he thought it might be the beginning of carpol tunnel syndrome. I told him I'd never heard of that from all of the people I knowwho have CTS but he still thinks that is what is causing the itching. Your Dh should see a doctor. He may decide he could live with the itching rather than the cure (as I did).

I just saw a dermatoligst(not spelled right) I had this itching and awful rash for 4 months. It was a severe case of exzema. She perscribed a steroid cream you use 10 days. Well, its cleared up. Its from the cold and having damp hands. I have to wear gloves and even cotton ones dusting. I tried everything. It drove me nuts. Hope you get relief soon.

Several months ago,. I realized I was scratching, here and there
over my body. Kept up for 2 or 3 days, could not figure out
what could be causing it. Called the Dr's office and nurse said
take a Benedryl tablet and see if that helpsl Yup!, it stopped
and haven't had a problem since.

I get what I believe is a diabetic itch of my hands every now and again aqueous cream works well. If he hasn't been checked out, see if his sugar levels are OK and you may find that is the answer. All the best.

I agree......make an appointment with his doctor.
In the mean time I would suggest keeping a daily log to see if it starts at the same time, or after doing something with chemicals or whatever. That would be helpful when it comes time to see the doctor, because I'm sure these questions will be asked. Other than a hand lotion, I don't think I would take anything for it until seeing a doctor.
If your husband balks at seeing the doctor then I would suggest that he do all the dish washing and also the laundry....by hand, since warm water might help relieve the itch. That might be a great time do re-wash all the items in the linen closet. We must keep him busy.
As I tell my husband, either see the doctor or keep your complaints to yourself, as I'm aware of it since he already told me all morning and I don't need to hear it anymore. :wink: ;) :lol:

Sounds like he may have a yeast or fungal problem. Taking probiotics will probably help if this is the case. This is actually much more common then most people realize.
Kidney or liver problems can also cause the itching. I would try the probiotics and if they don't help, see a dermatologist.
