String Piecing on adding machine paper

Had a frustating time looking for 3" paper rolls!! Could find 2" at Staples etc. Then yesterday I found a pack of 6 in a warehouse in Birmingham for £5.50 yipee!! BUT even better, happened to look among a pile of 'shop soiled goods' and found 2 packs of 10 rolls for...... £2!!!!!! Wow am I a 'happy bunny'!!!!!!! Now to make a start on those scraps!! I would like a wider border than the 3 inch paper would make. I think you could use old telephone book paper, newspaper or whatever and just glue stick the pieces together when you came to the end of one piece. It would probably be easier to tear off than the adding machine paper also. If you cut your newspaper the long way the strips would add up fast.

I have kept the paper from the bolt of EQS Super soft polyester wadding, they put a strip in their rolls of batting it is a super size being a tad over 4". Try your local LQS as I would bet that they only throw it out :idea:

I tried the piecing technique on adding machine tape and don't see the attraction. I'll test it out again and see if it gains more appeal.
Maybe what I'll do is use all the odd shapes, see if that works better. I have two huge bins of scraps and strips.
