I take patterns as a starting point and work from there. There are no mistakes, only design decisions.

I either make my own pattern or change other patterns to suit what I am trying to make. I find that process to be a lot of the fun in making a quilt.

hi ladies I am sort of new here but am sr. citizen tried to do some quilting but only did a couple because read and look on line they telling you how to cut and do so I did not think I would be able to do did about 3 and tyed them do crochet but have decide to give it another try after seeing all the post and wing it

Is there another way? I have never followed the pattern to the letter. I use it as a guide, mostly I see something I like and then improve on it for my taste.
