Don't be a fair weather friend.

Mom- (when we were in her way)You make a better door than a window.

Birds of a feather flock together.

Dad- It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

My kids used to laugh when I blamed all their issues on "raging hormones"
Also when I called them hooligans hahaha

Get the lead out! ( hurry up)

It is was it is ( that's true!!!)

Our elderly aunt from Maine would say
"I haven't had that since Christ wore knee highs"!
My dad "Niether a borrower nor a lender be".

My mom always said, "You only get out of something what you put into it."

My mom used to get bothered at us when we would ask what we were having for dinner. She would always say 'Leftovers for kitchen meddlers." Didn't know what she was really saying till I got older. The the oldest one "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free." When the moon is holding water, the fishing is good. If you see a hawk sitting on the side of the road, fishing isn't good.

One thing I will never forget that my Dad used to say was if something or someone looked really nice he would say "you look just like a hundred miles of good paved road!!!"

If your going to do something do it right. My DH husband said that is mother would ask "If your sister jumped off a bridge would you?" One of my favorites that my Dad says is "You sure scrub up good" when he sees someone dressed up that does not normally do so.
