Given the choice between quilting and welcoming a new grandchild I'd choose the grandchild. :) The baby is gorgeous. My SIL also had to leave his newborn daughter - his firstborn and only 2 weeks old - for a year.

Thanks to all for the kind words & compliments. I'll pass them along to the family also.

As one guy at my work pointed out...wow, poor John, look at all that future estrogen!. At least he's trained in weapons to handle scaring off the guys later on,lol.

What a beautiful family you have and believe me deployment isn't easy, but they look like a very loving family and strong!!

That's a pretty good excuse for not sewing that day! You have a beautiful family. So glad your son was able to be there and will have some time with them before he's deployed. Sounds like you live pretty near to them--I guess you'll just have to spend some time over there with those precious kids!
