My scissors are on a lanyard. But not around my neck. I use a thread stand ,so my thread holder on my machine is empty. so that is where I loop my lanyard around and my scissors hang there at the ready. Always at hand. very handy.

I want my scissors handy, and since they usually get lost under piles of work, I l do hang them on my neck. So always know where they are. When my grandkids were little and getting to sew with grandma, they would do that. lol

I use a curly stretch cord that was from a cruise and held the drink card. I love it, never lose my scissors and I use it for hand work and machine work. Wish I could find another one for a friend of mine.

I tried one once and did not like it. When sewing at machine, I prefer to set my clipper scissors right in front of the machine, which my dressmaker shears to the right of the machine. I have done that so long that when I change my behavior, I cannot find the right ones and get frustrated.

Handsewing is different. I have never set up a specific behavior as to where I put the scissors. Since I am doing a lot more hand applique and embroidery, I had to do something as I never knew where my scissors were.

I purchased a fob with a clip on it. I clip that onto my collor or shirt neckline. It has my little embroidery scissors attached. I love it. They are always there when I need them. I get so used to wearing them that I have been known to go visit my neighbor with them on. She is also a quilter, so she just laughs.

I use a small retractable ID badge holder that I keep a pair of folding scissors (slip & snips) on for when I do embroidery to cut thread and it also works well to to cut threads when sewing at the machine. I would never wear anything that actually hangs around my neck with a regular pair of scissor, only because I know I would forget they are there and hurt myself.
