Well, if you are defective, so am I and for about as long- I have purchased many "helpers" to achieve that straight line but it never works...nor do all the lines that I put on my sewing machine...
Glad to find someone else with this "uniqueness"

first and foremost do not ever watch the needle as you sew. whether you use the guide on your sewing machine, the blue tape or a 1/4 in foot, just watch your guide not the needle

Straight Line??? That is a normal process of Quilting. We all have them.(Not straight line). Just keep doing your best, and be happy the way you quilt. Don't compare your quilting style to others. If you stress out about it, it will take the enjoyment away.

So glad I'm not the only one! I like watching tutorials and tv quilting shows, and even you lovely ladies here and was always impressed by everyone's sewing but mine!
