Our WalMart has had the 2- yard cuts of fabric since they got rid of fabric on bolts, but the manager of tha department told be recently the bolts were coming back; they have received too many complaints, so around Sept. time framethey would be remodling again, and fabric bolts should be back. He also said it would be closer to quilt shop quality fabric than what they previously carried.

Last year a new Walmart in our town opened and this past Wednesday was the first time I had been back because it is way out of the way and their fabric dept. is nothing like it used to be - very small

FYI - This is where Walmart is getting their precut fabrics and kits from http://www.springscreative.com/fabric-by-the-yard/

......check out who they also sell to. I have to agree that their cotton fabric is crap. I did however buy some nice Palencia from them to make a little jacket for my GD's ladybug dress that I am making her. It's just a matter of really taking the time to look at what you are buying before you buy it.

I have purchased a couple of the pre-cut yardage from Wal-mart and the quality is pretty good. I am a bit of an (admitted) fabric snob - so my 'pretty good' could be someone else's 'awesome'.... or not.

I am so lucky ( well for now ) I live in the Pryor, Ok area and we still have lots of nice fabric at walmart. And on the bolts you can get as much as you want. I sure hope they do not change ours.

"Way of the Future" ....fabric spun, woven, dyed, cut, packaged, and shipped from countries far away, using child labor (likely), and benefitting from your tax dollars in "aid" (definitely), so that no American hands have to touch it before we sew it, UGH!

There are three Walmart stores within a half hours drive of my home. Each one seems to vary their fabric department. The fabric quality was poor in the store that carried the precut fabric. Another did away with their fabrics completely, but the one nearest my home still has a decent selection on bolts.

I go and shop at my WM but it is so hard to get anyone to come and help that the last time I just walked out but let them know at the front that I had 6 fabrics that I wanted and that as I couldn't get anyone they could keep it.
