We used to have chickens, sure do miss them. There's something kinda peaceful about watching them scratch & peck about. And the babies are so adorable.

I always had a pet chicken on the farm as a kid. Good memories and lots of chicken stories! Glad for you.

My daughter took me out today and showed me a hen and 11 baby chicks that they discovered this morning. The chicks are quite cute and are a dukes mixture. Some yellow, some black and yellow and 1 red one. He sticks out like a sore thumb. But they are adorable. Please post pictures of yours when you can. Congrats

A pullet is a girl chicken that's never laid an egg. After she lays her first egg, she's a woman... I mean hen.

That is cool. Our daughter came home one day and her banty hen was in the garage with one baby chick. We took her and got some more for her to raise and now we have a flock of 1 mother 1 banth chich and 4 red pullets. We hope the dogs, cats, skunks or racoons don't get them.

That brings back memories of my grandmother's chicken coop. She had a variety of feathered friends and one Bantan Rooster that had an attitude! Oh was he dangerous!

But I love chicks!
