Sounds great to me... If it was in my area and I saw the ad, I'd look into buying it.

A month ago a quilter in our area was offering 500+ yards of quality LQS quilt fabrics for $700... Oh if only I had the cash!!!! I assume she sold it all because her ad ran for several weeks in the paper.

Nope, someone else's cast offs. I wouldn't buy it, I'd rather choose $50 worth of stuff I know I would like and use!

At those prices, I'd get it all or be regretting it!

I'm pretty new also but I am only buying what I am using. Even on sale this can be an expensive hobby....so I'm going slow. A stash will come on its own.

i wouldn't do it and i wouldn't tell others to do it. for now, concentrate on what you know you need and will definitely use.
each time you make quilt, buy a little extra of the fabric you know you'd like to use again. i wouldn't go buying helter-skelter fabrics that don't co-ordinate or bear any relationship to one another. build your stash based on color preferences or print size or both. don't get sucked into cheap pre-cut deals that don't match anything and have no purpose. as for patterns, use the freebies online and learn from them, before investing $$ on patterns. buy tools only as needed. there's no contest to own stuff.

EDIT: does everyone who says to do it, really do it? not every piece of fabric is the last one on earth. and not every great deal, is even a deal.

why did it run that long if it was such a bargain? obviously, it took her a while to sell it off. at that price it should have sold the first few days.
