Several counties in Iowa have 'Barn Quilts'. They are showing up in several states I understand. Cool!

I'm in So.Minnesota, and we have several along Hwy.15. One place has 1 on a barn & 3 more on the side of another building. More & more people are seeing them & showing interest. Time will tell how many more show up.

I'm in Ohio, and I always thought our house could use a 'quilt.' Right between the 2 windows. I don't know how he'd hang it though. Hey, my job is coming up with the great ideas, it's HIS job to figure outhow to make them come to life

that's exactly what I did last summer..told him what I wanted and then .......

he bought the wood,
primed it,
drew the pattern (which I had chosen)
painted it (let him chose the colors)
frame it
.........and then it was his job to figure out how to hang it.

took some coaxing, as he wasn't too happy about holes in the vinyl siding... but it looks really good... and I think he's as happy as I am with the final results.

I love seeing all the barns in KY when we visit our DD. But we have several trails here in the mountains of western NC. I have maps for a couple of them and one of these days....

We don't have barns, but there is an intown walking trail in Powder Springs, GA (near Atlanta). Actually, there is one little barn included. They are also expanding into NW GA.

And recently, a new trail began in Lavonia, GA, near the SC border. You can see those here:

Ours in Kentucky are painted on two sheets of plywood that makes them about 8x8 there are specific rules to them if you want to be included in a trail.
