Surely you jest...cat hair catcher!?
It is a beautiful quilt.
I just struggled with the same design and I thought my fabric was much too busy, but thanks to the encouragement of the board I finished it and I love it. It is still too busy for a 4pp, but like yours it turned out well. I do have to say that yours reads better than mine and it reads well as a 4pp. Wonderful job.

I don't know what a 4 PP is? I think the blocks look like stack and whacks. . . .

I am not a great fan of Kafe Fassett so probably not the best person to give an opinion. I have not made a 4PP, OBW or stack n whack of any kind with any of his fabric BUT my instinct would be that his designs are too busy for this, too much scattered colour. The thing with using a limited colour palette, ie 3 or 4 colours maximum, is that in these fabrics, the colours tend to be distributed across the pattern, So if you have a fabric that is only purple, green and cream for example you will get blocks that are mostly purple, blocks mostly green and blocks mostly cream, giving you lots of variation and design interest, If you have a very busy multi-coloured fabric, the multicolours tend to show up in every block, giving less variation. I hope that's clear. My favourite fabrics for stack n whack, 4PP, OBW etc are the Asians - long repeats, striking but limited colours and lots of swirls. :-D

I'd say your fabric fulfilled all those criteria! And the alternate light and dark sashing set it off a treat AND your FMQ is fabulous. :-D

PS What you say about the pattern 'twisting', do you mean that the repeat across the width, ie selvage to selvage, was uniform? This sometimes happens and if you want to vary the blocks up a little, you can, after cutting blocks across the strips up to the point where you reach the same repeat, take a little slice out of the stack, say 1", just to move you along the repeat slightly. This should give more variation. Just for future reference. Though what you've made here is beautiful. :-D
Yes, elegant is the word I was searching for.
