I have done a boo-boo, not a cat or my dog, that has had to be covered and my easy answer was to put my label over it :thumbup: Let's face it there is no rule as to where you put a label is there?

Nice kitty. Right now I bet you'd like to have his nails clipped. Fabric can be repaired, you would miss that cat if it wasn't there. I think he might be saying that he wants one. Or maybe he is feeling neglected because the time you were working on the quilt you weren't paying attention to him. Cats are like that. Mine destroyed my blinds in the bedroom because I wouldn't stay and pet her. Long story but true. Give him some loving and then do the applique on the other quilt. You did a beautiful job. Your son will love it.

someone on here the other day removed a piece from the center of her quilt and replaced it. I am going to see if I can find the post!


ETA: I can't find the post but what she did was picked out the stitching in the offended piece then replaced it. I think in that case the block was just upside down so she just turned it around so it was right. However in your case just cut another piece of fabric exactly the size needed and sew the seams in order that they were put together in the first place. You shouldn't have any trouble.

I myself am a little crazy and an unintentional/added out of need applique would drive me nuts. Therefore I myself would take the extra time to remove the piece and replace it. However I understand others aren't as nuts as myself!

This will probably sound a bit odd, but i have taken a scrap and carefully worked it UNDER the hole and fused or stitched it to the top. it seems to blend in better and less fraying.

I was thinking of doing something like that. did you just "quilt" over the hole then?

This cat will not be missed that greatly by me right now because the last few days she has been "playing" in our room at like 4:30 5 am and that wakes my kids up and my hubby and I. And she has been opening my sons door at bed and naptime if I don't get the gate closed over the door. needless to say this cat will quickly become a wall mount if she keeps it up. I am probably going to go and get her a few toys to play with today or tomorrow. not sure when we will be getting out of the house.

First of all I think kitty needs a time out in her crate....that should teach her that if you play naughty, you pay...
I would place an appliqued star or two or three over the hole.

I agree. The fabric is pretty busy & that hole isn't really all that big...
