I think this is a wonderful gift. I love the smiling eyes! The lady who is getting this should be absolutely thrilled, especially since she has a dachshund! I would remember your kindness every time I used it! Thanks for sharing!

In peering closely at both the cute tote and the lovely quilt, I think maybe it's not the length of the ears that looks "off" to you, but rather that they're a bit high on the head (compare with the quilt dogs). Just slide them down a little on the next one you make, and see if you don't think you've reached perfection! Your fabric choices add to the whimsy, and the unadorned background lets the doxie be the star of the show.

And I, cat person, would love to have one made either way... = )
