Whoa! Sorry this happened to you. Have you heard back from them yet? I would be concerned about bedbugs, which can live without feeding for six months. The other people that posted about them are correct, heat will kill them.

I've been visiting the bedbug registry before I travel, infested hotels are listed, but now they are found in stores (while shopping for clothes) and the movie theater and everywhere.

Yes write immediately, the words you used in your post here are factual, polite, and well-written. You could copy the same text, and send it to the seller. First, have in mind what you want her to do: do you want a refund or partial refund? Do you want to inform her for the purpose of preventing this from happening to another of her customers? I would write to her a first letter, informing her that you are currently washing the fabric AND WILL CONTACT HER AGAIN, once the fabric is washed, dried, and pressed, to determine if there is any damage..... Keep the lines of communication open, be direct, and simply ask for what you want. If you are reasonable; assume she will be as well. And good luck. Let us know how it all turns out. You will be doing her a good turn by communicating.

Please let us know if a response is given. You should send another note, politly requesting an acknowledgment of the receipt of the first notice.

Still no word from the shop. I just wrote another email. Here it is:

"Yesterday I wrote to you telling you of a problem I had with my order in that the envelope had bug egg cases and bug feces in it.

I have not had a response in regards to this, and would like to know if you received that email.

I have been advised by many other quilters to wash the fabric, and then treat it with heat. I am doing that, and will advise you if there is any damage to the fabric. As of now, the fabric looks okay.

Please understand that I am not asking for anything. I want the fabric and will not return it unless there is obvious damage after washing and pressing. I simply want you to know there is a definite problem with your shipping supplies, and I would like confirmation that you have received my email.

Thank you."

It could be that my first email was a little TOO polite and they felt no response was necessary. I don't get that, but that could be what has happened. Heavens, if I got an email like that I would be falling all over myself to at least apologize!

The shop is in Georgia, and I'm not sure of the time difference, if any. So hopefully by tomorrow they will at least confirm that they got the email.

I'll keep everyone posted, and thanks for your suggestions and concerns.

I would definitely let her know about the bugs so that she can correct any problem at her end. But bugs - ugh!! Never knew there were paper eating bugs out there.
