TRiple digits and no rain for more than 20 days. Worse in W. Texas where there has been no rain for 90 plus days. Hottest summer since 1980. froggyintexas

We stopped checking- we figured when they said 95-100 or more it was time to lay low. I am so greatful for AC and fans. We have resigned ourselves to the kids doing everything in doors this week and until this lifts. Thankfully our kids are not too wild and are willing to do things that are minimal to semi wild- we let them loose at times and let them run or turn up music and let them dance or beat on a drum etc. They have their daily tasks but other them tat they have been entertaining themselves in the cool.
Someone elsewhere just posted if you don't have AC take a wet towel and drape it over a fan to cool the air- sounds good to me. I pray for those who do not have AC such as my parents and others especially with health issues

It's been as high as 110 on my porch in the shade, and over 100 for 28-30 days. Yards are brown and even the trees are looking distressed. they have started mandatory watering rules here and rationing in many of the towns around us. Thankful to the Lord for our AC. We just stay inside.

90 days? our last rainfall here in Odessa, TX was labor day of 2010. been close to a year now. it's almost 11:00 p.m., temp is 95 and humidity is 25%, and that's high for here, it's usually around 15% and lots of time is down to like 7%.

It has been so hot and humid here in Jersey that my DH has been turning on the AC without me saying a word to him. Now that's really something!
