If it's not quilted, it's not finished.

So guess what - my oldest UFO is 1.5 years old.

I pieced it, sanwiched it, basted it - and then..... Got scared about FMQ'ing it. I'm a little braver now - I've taken afew FMQ classes and have practiced.. A little more and I will be confident enough to tackle it.
Same for me , except that mine is just the top. Still not comfortable with FMQ, but plan on tackling it along with all my other wishlist items.

I started a quilt before I got married 41 yrs. ago. It was a hand appliqued top of an American eagle with an elaborate border. I finished about 3/4ths of it and then my tastes changed. I am no longer into early American decor. I gave it to Goodwill last year along with threads, pieces to go, and binding. I hope it was a good find for someone.

I still have a quilt as you go Log Cabin I started about 30 yrs. ago. Do plan on finishing this one - some day.

While go through some packed away sewing things I found 12 stamped embroidery teddy bear designs that I started when I was expecting my daughter - she is now 46 years old! but never say never - I have decided to finish them and make a couple of wall hanging or lap quilts for each of my children (not sure they will appreciate them at this point but somehow it is leaving them a story with the quilts)

I recieved a ufo that was my Greatgrandmother, does that count? She started it before I was born, I'm 60, so its at least that old. Some day I will finish it.

I have traditional log cabin blocks in blue that I made at my first class. There are enough to make a queen size or two twins. It was a class based on "Quilt in a Day" . My sons were nine and six years old. They are 43 and 40 years old now. You do the math. It is still on my TO DO list !!!

This probably doesn't count either, but the oldest UFO in my house was made in 1947 by my mother-in-law's mother-in-law who was 100 years old at the time. It's a double wedding ring and the background is yellow, which my inlaws don't like, so it's been left up to me to sandwich and quilt it. I really don't want to give it back, so I'm procrastinating.
